Where It All Began
The Sugarpost Red Cross Turtle is the piece that started it all. Hand-welded from a genuine WWII army helmet, this iconic garden sculpture measures approximately 18"L x 7" tall x 11" wide and is packed with personality β right down to its spring-loaded bobbing neck.
The Sugarpost Story
Artist Fred Conlon spotted a pile of old WWII surplus helmets at a military yard and saw something no one else did: a turtle. That first helmet turtle β sold reluctantly on day one β launched Sugarpost Metal Art. Made in Salt Lake City, Utah, every piece is handcrafted from recycled scrap metal and vintage military surplus, welded, plasma cut, and signed by the artist.
